I was hoping that the movie wouldn't be offensive or trite. My interest increased after seeing the USCCB give it a very positive review. That said, I was very impressed with the movie: both the script and the visuals - - the fact that a child's prayer was taken seriously by the parents; that God's lines "fit" our theology so well (and yes, Morgan Freeman is a great image of a loving, omnipresent God); and that the transformation of the main character is not done without a struggle.<BR/> <BR/>If anyone goes to see this movie expecting a sequel to "Bruce Almighty" I think they will come away disappointed. But if you go to see this with an open heart, you will find joy and humor and an affirmation of your faith.<BR/>I found myself praying at the end of it for the people who made it - the cast, writers, crew, etc. - and those who will see it - that the movie's message might take hold in them and change their lives, too.<BR/><BR/>MAC - NJAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
