Chesterton was the best writer of the 20th century. He said something about everything and he said it better than anybody else. But he was no mere wordsmith. He was very good at expressing himself, but more importantly, he had something very good to express. The reason he was the greatest writer of the 20th century was because he was also the greatest thinker of the 20th century. "

Amen!

If anyone's wondering where to start in getting to know G.K.'s work, i'd recommend Mr. Ahlquist's "GK Chesterton: The Apostle of Common Sense" or "Chesterton University Student Handbook" available at www.chesterton.orgJuniper, a bean farmerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15535581225270678105noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29560222.post-87291840117510635472008-12-18T06:09:00.000-05:002008-12-18T06:09:00.000-05:00I agree! Thanks for the thought Trey! The Heart of Thingshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13574967898452086642noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-29560222.post-49002179871127136662008-12-17T22:10:00.000-05:002008-12-17T22:10:00.000-05:00Bill,GK Chesterton's work always amazes me. Although babies are anything but mundane per se, his juxtaposition of "those delightful bulbous heads" and in "each of those orbs there is a new system of stars, new grass, new cities, a new sea" is brilliant, poetry in prose.

Pax Christi,

TreyAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00739044758686174612noreply@blogger.com
